To provide a calm, serene and safe atmosphere where my clients can fully relax and enjoy their massage experience. To have mutual trust, respect and understanding and have unlimited compassion for those who come to me for help; holding no judgments.
I perform corrective muscle techniques and assisted stretching to create long-term, therapeutic effects and positive structural re-patterning, education for how to increase and continue the benefits at home, as well as helping the client to be more aware of postural, habitual and emotional reasons that may be causing or adding to their discomfort and holding patterns.
It is my intention to help my clients to function optimally, be inspired to learn more to care for themselves, (and others) and live a more balanced life.
I base my massage techniques on the needs of each individual client. I can do soothing work that brings relief and relaxation - OR - I can do more intensive and specific work that promotes healing and injury recovery.
In either instance, my goal is to help you bring your body into a natural, balanced state to promote health and well being.
*Please remember that any process of holistic wellness relies on diligence and consistency of the individual. Just as one workout lays the foundation to the next and we get in shape by adhering to an exercise regimen and nutrition program,or as with chiropractic and acupuncture - each session builds upon the one before it. With massage, it is often like peeling through layers of an onion. We are multi-faceted mind-body-spirit. Each stress we have had in our lives layers upon the next. Emotional upheavals, stress at work/home/loss, nutrition or lack thereof, all can create physical pain and restriction in our bodies. Physical stress/injuries and poor posture can also cause the muscles to "glue" to each other.
In order to create lasting changes in our bodies, regular massage (either with your therapist or learning from these classes with a special person) and most importantly - learning and using good posture and biomechanics/ergonomics and taking care of yourself "body - mind- spirit" on a regular basis, will create the change in our bodies and manage and relieve our stress. We often feel guilty taking care of ourselves, but if we do not, we have nothing to give those we care about, our responsibilities or our careers.
